I just an episode of Friends (when Joey had to learn to speak French) and only for 2 seconds, there was the exterior shot of a building before the view cuts into the scene. You know what I mean, right? In this episode, just before showing Ross and Rachel in the hospital corridor, they showed a 2-second footage of the building they are (supposedly) in. Why would I doubt it? ...I was surprised to see that the video clip of the building was the front view of Robarts Library at UofT! Yeah, it was a shot of Robarts Library and they used it as a hospital. Likely only a handful of people in the States who saw that would have recognized it so it wouldn't matter. ...But to those who know, (like me) just can't imagine it as a hospital.
My theory on that is simple...When Conan came to Toronto, his crew must have taken that footage and the Friends production team just used it. Hey, they both under NBC anyway, so they're just sharing clips.
In the end, still...WOW, Robarts Library shown on Friends.

I just finished watching S.CRY.ED. It's an anime series yes, and they did spell it like that. But for simplicity, I'll just refer to it as Scryed. OK, I'm going to start typing up relations and associations that I found throughout the series. These are all my opinions but some may be truth. Here it goes:
The two main characters, Kazuma and Ryuhou, are out to get each other. Certain things happened that led to them wanting to fight with each other. When they do, they are serious and use full force. Although they co-operated with each other against a common foe, in the end they had to fight to determine the stronger one. This desire to fight each other reminds me of Mibu Kyoshiro and Kyo settling the score to determine a victor even though they had just joined forces (Samurai Deeper Kyo). It also reminds me of Goku's intense fight with Babidi-Vegeta, where they were relentless and unforgiving (Dragonball Z).
Next up, these two hot shots were basically the best of their respective sides. What I mean is, Kazuma fights for the people who do not want to be under an outside government; but mostly he does what he wants. Ryuhou is part of an elite government defense group. In this regard, they remind me of Kira and Athrun (Gundam Seed). There are several other reasons why I think of Gundam Seed...The style of character designs for both shows are by the same, so probably the same bunch of animators. The voice actor for Kazuma also did Kira. In the 2 shows, there exist two kinds of people. Alters to regular people and Co-ordinators to regular people. Ryuhou is like Athrun because both of them are in an armed division of authority and both have to wear these long uniforms. These two are also reserved and disciplined; similar characters.
Kazuma and Ryuhou, in Scryed, both obtain powerful forms of their Alters which look like armoured suits. The fact that Kazuma's was typically fire-colour based, being orange, yellow, and red, while Ryuhou's is cold like purple-ish. They basically transform, and so they remind me of Takuya's Agnimon and Kouji's Wolfmon. These two transform by means of "spirit digi-evolution" and their transformed states share the same colours; one with fire and the other cold like purple (Digimon Frontiers).
In Scryed, Alters are forms and abilities that people create by dematerializing from matter around them and changing them by will. Watching these Alters summoned time after time reminds me of any show that deals with the principle of calling on SOMETHING that is generated or released from SOMETHING ELSE (Pocket Monsters, Digital Monsters, Cardcaptor Sakura, Yu-Gi-Oh, etc.).
I think that's all for that. Bye!
